Learn More About Redken Leave-In Conditioner for Damaged Hair

Do you apply leave-in conditioner on wet or dry hair?

Leave-in conditioner should be applied to clean, damp hair, at the end of your hair washing routine. After applying the conditioner into your hair, use a comb or brush to detangle it and let the hair dry as desired. If you're having problems with dry ends, focus some of the leave-in conditioner there. Applying to damp hair will encourage moisture retention, helping to reduce dryness, coarseness and frizziness.

How long should I leave the Redken leave-in conditioner in my hair?

Redken leave-in conditioners can simply be left in until your next wash. Formulated for ultimate strength repair, conditioning and protection, the Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Leave-In Treatment range can visibly improve all hair textures and types after a single use. One tip is to time your hair wash before going to bed, so that your leave-in conditioner can help protect and nourish your hair overnight.

Can I skip conditioner and use leave in conditioner?

It's recommended to use both normal shampoo, conditioner and leave-in conditioner to achieve healthy, shiny and strong results. If you're experiencing hair dryness, breakage, coarseness or any loss of texture, including a leave-in conditioner for hair breakage in your washing routine is a great option. For example, use our Acidic Bonding Sulfate-Free Conditioner while in the shower and then reinforce this with a leave-in conditioner to support strong repair and growth. See Redken's full range of conditioners to explore more options for all hair types, textures and colours.

How often should you use Redken leave in conditioner on damaged hair?

Redken's leave-in conditioner for damaged hair can be used after every wash, that is as regularly as you use your standard shampoo or conditioner. If you have damaged and thin hair, your hair will dry quickly, meaning you will likely use your leave-in conditioner daily. If you have thick hair that is losing its texture, you may only use your leave-in conditioner once or twice a week. As you notice your hair regain strength and shine, you may want to lessen the amount you use your leave-in conditioner, although it's fine for daily use if you enjoy the extra nourishment and protection. If your hair damage is from heat styling, see our full range of heat protectants & hair primers.

Can you leave the Redken acidic bonding treatment on overnight?

All of Redken's Acidic Bonding hair treatments should be used as is instructed. Our Acidic Bonding leave-in conditioner for heat protection, features a lighter yet effective formula that can be left in overnight and until your next wash. Leaving a leave-in conditioner on overnight is a great way to impart nutrients and protect heat damaged or coarse hair. Alternatively, our Acidic Bonding Concentrate Intensive Treatment features a concentrated formula, and should only be left in for 10-15 minutes before being rinsed out.
